Office Applications in the Classroom

  1. 1. You can use word processing programs in the classroom to create posters, stickers, and postcards.
    2. Microsoft Office, StarOffice, and Open Office software applications that allow you to use office applications in the classroom.
    3. Word processing allows for brainstorming. Ideas can be easily moved around, sorted into a logical order, and edited. A word processor can generate charts to visually organize your ideas. In addition, word processors can change font size and color, indent, and use bullets to draw attention to more important ideas. You can copy and paste graphics and internet links into a word processing program to come back to later. Finally, word processors create a professional-looking final essay. They will even generate footnotes and a table of contents for you.
    4. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publishing are office applications that can be used for teaching and learning.

  2. 1.) Research papers, letters, journals 2.) StarOffice, OpenOffice and Googledocs 3.) It is easier to make corrections. Typing is faster than writing. Both of which would make the writing process quicker. 4.) word processing, spreadsheet, database, publisher, and power points

    2) StarOffice and GoogleDocs
    3) Using word processing allows you to the freedom to add, delete, and move sentences around. It allows for you to just type up paragraphs of ideas and then you can arrange it how you like. Using word processing helps the writing process go a lot faster because it is all done in one document compared to handwriting it and it taking several times of writing it.

  4. Brain Storming, postcard, and editing are often uses of word processing. Some online packages that can be used for office applications in the classroom are Staroffice and Open Office. A word processing would help students when they are editing their papers cutting down the time of having to rewrite a paper. Also students can use word processing to take notes that are more legible then some students handwriting. Applications that can be used in the class room are spreadsheet, word processing, database, powerpoint, and publisher.

  8. 1. Brainstorm, Create a postcard, Choose a visual, document, or audio to serve as the focal point for a project, and write a sentence and put it in a color then put another students sentence in a different color.

    3.Word processing increased students' motivation to write and promoted group discussion, it also helps keep writing assignments more organized and easier to access.
